A new report from market research group IHS iSuppli pins down the cost for Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) to manufacture its new $79 Kindle e-reader at $84.25. Analysis from the firm found the total cost of materials for the company was $78.59, while the cost for putting them all together came in at $5.66. Amazon expects to make up for Kindle production losses with embedded advertising and by stoking sales from the devices.
