  • Friday, December 2, 2011, 1:59 PM In spite of many claims to the contrary (I, II), Intel (INTC) and AMD's PC CPU businesses may have little to fear from Windows 8's support of ARM-based (ARMH) chips. Mary-Jo Foley reports Microsoft (MSFT), which has already said older Windows apps won't work on ARM hardware, is now leaning toward supporting ARM only on its "Metro" tablet UI, leaving regular PCs to be serviced by Intel and AMD solutions.
