    S&P adjusts methodology for its High-Yield Dividend Aristocrats Index to include companies issuing special cash dividends in the last 25 years. The methodology change precedes the index's annual rebalancing, set for Dec. 7 AH. Among companies added to the index, big gainers: ORI +12.5%, BRC +5.6%. Among deletions: ATO -4.6%, HRL -2.9%, UGI -3.2%, UVV -8.3%.

  • I used to own UVV and was surprised to see the sharp drop but don't see any news. They are vulnerable to market deterioration from direct tobacco sales to cigarette companies by their client base. Many high dividend stocks have problems or potential problems making them very risky investments. I just got the shaft from AMR preferred.
