  • stupid that isn't the reason. SHLD just signaled that less appliances were sold. I'm sure people can find Whirlpool products without going to Sears. Have you heard of Home Depot or Lowes?

  • Not surprising. Sears was uncool even when I was a kid in the 1970s. Only reason for stepping into a Sears store is for tools and appliances. Even then, it makes you feel like a dork.

  • What they should do is spin off their tools division and trash the rest.

  • (WHR) is sold at many places besides Sears. I just bought two Whirlpool appliances, and got them from Home Depot because they have free haul-away (Sears charges $100). Got another one from BBY - same deal, free delivery, free haul-away.

    I don't think that Sears has been the major mover of appliances for years.
