More than 2 months after it made its U.S. debut, the iPhone 4S (NASDAQ:AAPL) may be cleared for sale in China. People's Daily reports the 4S has met the requirements set by Chinese regulators, and is expected to be available in early January. One big question is whether China Telecom (NYSE:CHA) will join China Unicom (NYSE:CHU) in offering the device. China recently passed the U.S. as the world's largest smartphone market. (earlier)
