AT&T (T) adds 4G support to its GoPhone prepaid plans, as well as new plans that range from $25-$60/month. The update comes a month after AT&T launched its 3G-only AIO prepaid plans, which Ma Bell said are (relative to GoPhone) focused on customers who want unlimited voice and more phone options; the two costliest new GoPhone plans also offer unlimited voice. AT&T is betting the new plans will bolster a prepaid business that lost 184K subs in Q1, and is about to face tougher competition from T-Mobile (TMUS), which plans to rapidly grow MetroPCS' 4G prepaid coverage.
