An IDC survey asking CIOs to name their top 3 priorities for 2012 resulted in 40% mentioning virtualization - music to the ears of industry giant VMware (NYSE:VMW) and rival Citrix (NASDAQ:CTXS). The results back up a recent survey of server pros indicating strong interest in virtualization. Cloud services, collaboration tools, and analytics were also frequently listed as top priorities in IDC's survey.
