The changes could bring the ire of privacy critics because of the sheer volume of information collected — including your location, list of contacts and email contents.

I hope money and greed don't ruin this model! :-P
If you don't like this model, you can always stop using it... or you can even build your own CapitInternet, which would work under a private, closed & capitalist model! No one is preventing anyone from doing this. Is it? It's a free world, at least Online! (So far...)
