Americans shifted their taste away from beer to pricier liquors, according to a report from an industry-watching group that cites a bump in market share for pricier spirits offerings. Drivers for the gain in market share include an increase in advertising spending by distillers and a new product line that flavors-up old classics. Industry stalwarts BEAM, STZ, and BF.A also have their eye on growing exports as their drinks gain popularity abroad.
