The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index rises to -27.3, matching its best level in more than 5 years. The index has gained 10.2 points from the year's low in late January, and thus far has its best YTD average since -10.5 in 2007. It remains a long way from the long-term average of -16.2. Politically, the Ds rate the economy better than the Rs for a 16th consecutive month - highly unusual as the index has averaged 26.8 points higher for Pubs in data stretching bak to mid-1990.
