- Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM), Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A, RDS.B) and Talisman Energy (NYSE:TLM) are among nearly a dozen suitors reportedly advancing to the next round of bidding for Newfield Exploration's (NFX +0.6%) Malaysian and Chinese oil and gas fields valued at $2B.
- NFX owns an interest in ~3.3M net acres offshore Malaysia and ~290K net acres offshore China; the Malaysian fields accounted for 39% of NFX's revenues in 2012, while the Chinese fields accounted for 3.3%.
- The sale of the China project may be delayed by recent damage to a production platform, NFX said yesterday.
