- U.S. stock futures are firmly lower, as are European shares, as investors gear up for the release of the latest FOMC minutes this afternoon and what it might mean for the Fed's prospective tapering.
- The S&P Mini is -0.2%.
- Market analyst Craig Erlam isn't expecting much other than info about how officials voted at the FOMC's last meeting in July. Erlam reckons that because they seem to be evenly split over whether or not to taper in September, he thinks it's unlikely.
- Away from the obsession with the Fed, Staples crumples 12.1% following earnings while Target drops 2.7%, but Lowe's is +4.4%.
- Later: Existing Home Sales, H-P earnings
