Lockheed wins $39M US Navy contract
- Lockheed Martin (LMT -0.1%) says it's won a $37M contract to provide the U.S. Navy and other allied navy customers with upgrade kits and services for the MK 48 heavyweight torpedo.
- The contract is part of a five-year effort to upgrade the entire submarine fleet. The upgrades will provided the MK 48 with increased bandwidth and streamlined targeting and tracking capabilities.
- The kit includes a broadband analog sonar receiver, a guidance and control box, and a pre-amplifier.
