Yes, we have some very talented people in NASA, NIH, DOD that do great research and work on complex and impressive projects. But we've made changes in work rules over the past couple of decades to ensure/allow these people to be paid close to market wages in their professions.
The other thing the report doesn't take into account is hours worked. I have a friend that worked for many years as a lawyer in the private sector and now works in the same capacity in the federal government. He mades a lesser salary than he used to - but he also says he'd never consider going back. He works less than have as much as he used to - and its completely devoid of stress.
The government can produce whatever numbers they want. We all know these bureaucrats are enjoying the gravy train and its coming at our children's and grandchildren's expense. All you have to do is go down to your local DMV office to see this on a very small scale. Then try dealing with a federal agency or two and you'll get the picture - people living better than yourself telling you how to live! ....... kind of like the Communist Party in the Soviet Union!!!!
Isn't gobmt in the sacrificial service of humanity?
Like teachers?
Like nurses?.......
No, really, I love the gobmt.
