    Though shares of Coinstar (CSTR) are flying off the news that the firm signed a JV with Verizon - up 6.7% premarket - Firstadopter can't help but wonder why the firm didn't announce the deal along with its earnings report slated for today after the market closes. Does the timing of the announcement tip off an earnings beat or miss?

    Earnings miss would be my guess. They must've been hoping for a pop earlier in a day followed by a drop later...equalizing the effect.
