In a customer survey, BBY offers details of an "Apple HDTV" to be sold at stores for $1499: 42-inch 1080p LED flat panel display; can download and use App Store apps; supports iCloud for storing videos and music; can stream content from popular sites such as Netflix, YouTube, Flickr. Seriously people, did we really expect anything less from an iTV - HDTV, Apps, iCloud, streaming content - Those features are already implied.
Wish I'd have known AAPL was comibng out with their's for $99 more.
i.e....$1499 *will* fly.
But trust me, a $1499 iTV from Apple will offer a lot more than my "Smart" Samsung.
AAPL is not dumb enough to come out with 'just another 42" TV' to compete with 60" ones...much more in the TV than you can imagine.
Just look what they did with the iPhone...everyone was perfectly happy, including me with their $49 Nokia phone, weren't they?
With the iPad, everyone said, 'oh, it's just a bigger iPhone without talk capability'. And where are we now?
