    A day after Best Buy may have inadvertently leaked details about Apple's (AAPL) much-rumored TV set, The Globe and Mail reports Apple is in talks to sell the device through Canadian cable/wireless providers Rogers (RCI) and BCE. It's claimed Rogers and BCE already have prototype sets, and that the device can be controlled by either voice (Siri) or hand gestures.

    How would Siri work if it is built into a TV...and vast numbers of people get their programming selections from cable or satellite?

    Easy. SIRI would negate the need to use a remote control and the back asswards interfaces cable companies have had for the past 20 years. "Find me NBC". "Find me an episode of The Big Bang Theory." "What time is American Idol on?" is a lot easier that scrolling through 800 channels.

    All I can hope is that this is just the start. I want interactive TV, and for Apple to buy Pixar, or buy Disney to get Pixar and sell the rest.

    Then and only then, Apple will go to places yet unexplored in the TV universe.. This first "effort" just has to be a snack to whet our appetites, and surely not the main dish.
