    As Netflix (NFLX) debuts its first original series and YouTube (GOOG) significantly expands its professional offerings, Amazon (AMZN) has apparently decided it wants in on the action: job postings (I, II) on the company's site indicate it's looking for creative execs to develop video content for Amazon Studios. The big question: when do such initiatives go from being mere nuisances to Hollywood studios to legitimate threats?

  • Kudos to the challengers -- Hollywood is a dinosaur of a market that deserves to be disrupted, if not outright destroyed.

  • D-Virginia, indeed, you're right. Hollywood, so greedy, so intractable, has taken on the invincible, (freedom of expression and art in a new technological field) So no one needs their fingers in the pie any longer. Its downfall is inevitable.and deserved; unless it does something radically different. And that's unlikely isn't it?.
