    The Economist removes Argentinian inflation statistics from its comprehensive economic statistics reporting, admitting numbers can be dodgy all over the world, but this particular figure is a special case of pure manipulation. "We see no prospect of a speedy return to credible numbers." ARGT +13.6% YTD.

    Argentina had inflation of about 30%. Of course, this didn't look so good and their government fired the entire department that calculates inflation. They hired new people and inflation calculated by these ''cleverer and more learned'' individuals dropped in half immediately. The Economist is right that numbers can be dodgy all over the world and on inflation they are always dodgy and always lower than what makes sense. This is true in the developed world as well but not to extent that we've seen in Argentina ... for now.

    This magazine could be very thin if they did that to all the countries that report fake numbers......like most of them
