    Eight big drugmakers - ABT, AMGN, AZN, BMY, GSK, MRK, NVS, PFE - are sued by a consumer group claiming the companies’ coupon programs, which cover much of the patient co-payment for hundreds of brand-name prescription medicines, are illegal.

  • Funny how the "consumer group" argues the payments drive up costs in the long run. Yet these groups surely support govt. programs and payments to every other sector of society (higher ed. grants, food stamps, welfare) and would undoubtedly deny their inflationary pressure.

    I guess it boils down to this: private payments bad, govt. payments good.
