Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 5:40 PM ETShares of rental car companies posted strong gains after MKM Partners pegs Dollar Thrifty (DTG +3%) as "best positioned" to benefit from strong residual values due to its high mix of owned-outright vehicles and of compact and midsize vehicles. But Avis (CAR +5.5%) and Hertz (HTZ +6%) also gain on MKM's belief that used-car prices will be supported by higher new-car prices.
