    NPD estimates U.S. retail video game industry sales fell 24% Y/Y in February. That's not a pretty figure, but is better than January's 34% decline. Software sales fell 23% Y/Y, and hardware sales fell 18%. However, hardware sales rose 62% from January levels if one excludes 4 days of PlayStation Vita (SNE) sales, and rose 87% if one doesn't. The Xbox 360 (MSFT) was once again the top-selling console.
