    Shale gas projects in Europe and China are not guaranteed to succeed and may not come into first production until the next decade, Chevron's (CVX +0.6%) head of oil and gas production warns. Conditions in Poland and other promising countries are very different from the U.S. because the geology is not as well understood, George Kirkland tells FT.
