Kraft (KFT +0.1%) plans to change the corporate name of its global snacks company to Mondelez International to better encapsulate the idea of a "delicious world" and its ongoing global push in advance of a split of the company into two. Product lines falling under the new Mondelez names will include Oreo, Trident Gum, Tang, and Cadbury.

  • Kraft? I know the products well. Cheese, lunch meats, packaged food.
Mondelez? Never heard of this until today. Doesn't sound like the Oreo cookie that I have been eating for 68 years. Mondelez doesn't ring a bell with my desire to chew Trident Gum. Or drink Mondelez orange juice from the space age Tang. Mondelez, Cadbury? Maybe. But I always thought Cadbury was chocolate.
Kraft to Mondelez? Almost as dumb as Coke to Neanderthal.
