Apple (AAPL +2.3%) rallies after Topeka Capital's Brian White decides to one-up his many bullish peers by starting coverage with a $1,001 PT (no typo). White, who made plenty of positive remarks about Apple while at Ticonderoga Securities, praises Apple's brand for being "able to touch the soul of consumers of all backgrounds." He also thinks China and a TV set could help out some.

  • He's just trying to make a name for himself : D But one new development he mentioned is "4G"... Most current Apple devices are still 3G so if Apple enters the 4G market, then that'll be huge !!

  • The vast majority of the world does not even have 4g capability.

  • Apple already has 4G with the new iPad, so it reasonable to expect the next iPhone to continue this process, and yes it will be huge!!

  • with the new version of iOS 5.1 the 4S phones now display "4G" but in effect they merely have access to faster speeds, what is it 4G=7.2MBps and 3G=0.6MBps?

  • reminds me of the DOW 20,000 made in 2001 as the market was going parabolic... we've seen there's a limit as to how much money is invested long in a single stock too.

  • 1000 = $750 then a 10 to one split - $75 - to $100 in a wink.

  • As a user and investor, it seems so clear: people ultimately will gravitate to what they like to use, to touch, to see. Everything Apple makes has always responded to those primal human instincts. It's love not at first sight but from a lifetime of satisfaction. So I keep buying more Apple products, and buying more Apple stock, and hope I never have reason to change my mind.
