This morning's noteworthy downgrade of Apple (AAPL +0.3%) from BTIG is offset by Topeka Capital's bullish note that predicts the iPhone 5 will be "extraordinary" and could dwarf previous launches. "This will be the most significant iPhone upgrade with a four-inch screen and a new, sleek look that we believe will require a Unibody case," the firm writes.

  • I do not understand why this people want to play with down grades this late in the game?, my guess is they need publicity.
AAPL will hit $750 or very close to it on earnings April 24th, and by iPhone5 time $800

  • There will be more downgrades. This is just the beginning. As for "iPhone upgrade", what's that? It's going to make 4 minor changes instead of 2? Give me a break. Apple puts out small insignificant changes most of the time, and people are sucked into throwing more money down the toilet. Apple will be steadily dropping once people finally realize that Apple products are good, but not great, and that there are many other products out there that are better and cheaper.

  • There is never one cockroach, as they say. If the shares falter now, then wait for more downgrades. It's not even necessarily because anything's wrong with the company. Every stock needs to take a breather, especially after such a strong move. I've hearing a lot about Android products recently. Worth checking out??

  • The majority of Android phones are as good or better than the iPhone, and far more reasonably priced. I don't see any reason to spend extra money on the iPhone when there are far better choices out there that don't break the bank.
