Maxim expects the the unpredictable voltage changes produced by wind and solar plants to drive demand for AMSC's grid-management solutions, and thinks a settlement of its lawsuit against ex-customer Sinovel could provide a "surprising lifeline." Earlier this week, AMSC appealed the dismissal of one of its Sinovel suits to China's supreme court.
