A new poll shows Francois Hollande widening his lead to 14 points over French President Sarkozy with elections coming soon. Hollande has run on a platform of renegotiating the EU fiscal compact to tilt it away from austerity and towards growth. As Ireland has found out, campaigns are different than governance. One might expect Hollande to ease his stance once elected.
