A trader that had the guts to buy at the bottom --and who now sells immediately after the cut-off date for the dividend--has a big total return.
I love MLPs. They give small investors some of the breaks the evil, nasty 1%, like Romney, use to keep their total tax payments to all levels of government at zero. Since they primarily benefit the same 1%, which totally control our government, moreover, the tax breaks are not likely to disappear anytime soon.
Some folks fuss about K-1s. As I explained elsewhere, that's zero problem. Just buy Turbo Tax and copy the data on the K-1 to the boxes in TT. The software guides one through the process. Boring!! but anyone with an IQ over 50 can do it with no sweat .

Question for the audience. Asclepius* is the grandest phantasist since. . . [name the greatest liar in world history.]
I wrote a book, unhappily called Honor among Thieves, in which I showed that Daniel Defoe invented all the moronic myths folk think are true about pirates. I.e., everything in the Disney Johnny Depp movies (1) never happened and never could have happened and (2) is plagiarized from Defoe's phantasies in his fictional The General History of the Pirates. Asclepius8 runs a close second to Defoe.
The point is this. The 1% is the elite that owns the rest of us. It is not a small elite. Remember it is world wide. This is why like the best French wines fetch $10,000 a bottle, Manhattan mansions go for $40,000.. There are Arab !%ers, Chinese robber-barons, Russian oligarchs, etc. Do the math. 1% of 7,000,000,000 folk is 70,000.000 worldwide all competing for the same luxury goods.
A few love to be flamboyant, like Rupert Murdoch and the infamous Cock brothers. But 95% or more of the 1% are careful to remain anonymous. That's why there are Cayman Island companies and numbered Swiss bank accounts.
Anyone with an IQ over 25 can see why they don't want anyone to know who they are or anything about them. They would receive a million begging emails a day from various "charities." Papparazzi would swarm over them when they went out to a restaurant, etc. etc.. I mean, why do you think Mitt's many mansions are all in walled communities protected by heavily armed guards?
So when Asclepius8 tells us he knows what political positions are held by these folk about whom NOTHING IS KNOWN OR CAN EVER BE KNOWN, anyone with an IQ over 25 knows he is lying. Perhaps his lie is meant to be a joke. But I don't see the point of the joke.
I mean, I could do the same thing. Make up fake statistics. Anyone can. All Republicans do it all the time when running for election. But why waste time making up fake statistics everyone immediately knows are false when there is no reward for so doing?. The Republicans do so because, once in the House or Senate, they get millions in bribes from some among the 1% to write laws screwing the rest of us. But why lie solely to make a bad joke?
