Thursday, April 26, 2012, 10:16 AM ETApple's (AAPL -0.2%) Chinese sales, now 20% of its total and heavily responsible for its FQ2 beat, have gone from amounting to less than $1B/year prior to China Unicom's (CHU) 2009 iPhone launch to currently being on a $25B+/year annual rate. This staggering growth comes even though over half of iOS sales come from a handful of wealthy urban provinces, and top carrier China Mobile (CHL) isn't yet selling the iPhone.

But even if that's the case, it could take a little while for China Mobile to begin selling the iPhone, since their TD-LTE network is still at the trial stage, and they haven't received government approval to begin a commercial rollout.
