27% of CIOs surveyed by UBS expect Cisco (CSCO) to gain share this year, the best reading for the company in 4 surveys. The CIOs are more cautious about Juniper (JNPR): only 10%-15% plan to trial Juniper's high-end QFabric Ethernet switch platform this year, and none will fully deploy until 2013. Cisco has been picking up share in markets such as videoconferencing, Ethernet switching, routing, and storage networking. Earnings are due on May 9. (previous)

  • I guess [via my math skills], the survey also means or implies, that 73% of CIOs do not expect CSCO to gain share this year.
Whom shall I consider that an endorsement of?

  • It could simply mean they expect Cisco's share to hold steady. Or that they don't know for sure either way. I'm guessing a lot of CIOs are uncomfortable predicting how Cisco's global market share will change.
