China may have a population of 1.3B and Australia just 22M, but it is the latter that provides more revenues for GE and on which its shifting its focus. Whereas China is difficult to deal with, Australia has a free market and a reliable legal system, so it's just so much easier. And being full of resources, it provides GE with plenty of opportunity.

  • If I could, I would reduce US firms operating in China. All they do is steal our ideas without paying for them. They also REQUIRE US firms to release some of what we would call company secrets.

  • I'll second hwoodoo7's comment. China is not our friend. The Aussies would be far more beneficial to GE and its stockholders.

  • ge is going to report on the 10th of May, a .3 cent increase in their stock dividend, going from .17 cents a quarter to that of .20 cents a quarter. This will take the dividend to 4% a year, @ .80 cents on the stock that is trading at $19.60 today.

this move should support the forecasted stock price of $22 per share, by the end of the month.
