    AT&T (T) announces plans for a new portfolio of all-digital, IP-based home security monitoring and automation services that could add $1B to annual revenues. Called AT&T Digital Life, the services will give users control and security of their homes using any web-enabled device, PCs, tablets and smartphones, regardless of wireless carrier.

  • The poor service from UVerse does not give me many confidence with regard to letting them control my home security. Imagine your system, calling AT&T with an alarm. After the 5 second delay while it routes the call to a call center in India and a 25 minute delay while it waits for an agent. Then the agent calls you to see if its really an alarm and asks, "Did you turn the alarm system off and back on?" And you, "No". The agent, "You have to reset the alarm by turning it off and back on before I can help you."

  • If you can figure out how much this will cost to roll out, divide that by the number of shares outstanding to determine how much this will negatively affect your stock price.
