Traditionally, CEO's being indebted and having to dump shares into the market due to margin calls has not been the best of signs in the past.

DIdn't McClendon's margin calls on CHK in late 2008 pretty much mark the bottom (for that cycle!) for the stock? It nearly tripled over the next year.

Maybe, but characters such as Bernie Ebbers also suffered this kind of fate.

And both CHK and Worldcom had something in common with GMCR: heavy, perhaps unexplainable, capex.
