Moody's turns negative in its outlook for the U.S. coal industry, citing "a regulatory environment that puts coal at a disadvantage, along with low natural gas prices," with some of the decline in U.S. coal consumption permanent. Moody's expects operating margins for coal producers to deteriorate this year, and for prices for U.S. coal deliveries to decline at least 5% in 2013.
