    An FDA report says Gilead's (GILD +2.4%) HIV treatment Truvada is safe and effective in stopping uninfected people from contracting HIV, although the agency is concerned about when and how it should be used. An FDA advisory panel will meet tomorrow to discuss whether Gilead should be allowed to market Truvada as a prophylaxis

  • This is a historical moment for HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) HIV Treatment as Prevention (TasP). One that eclipses any feeble attempts of politics to hold science hostage. Evidence of efficacy is clear and irrefutable. Our biggest challenge is mustering political will and financial resources to implement programs for individuals at the highest risk for HIV.
