Ford (F) hears more praise than criticism from the 63 shareholders in attendance at its annual meeting. In a quick 45 minutes, the company saw all 16 current directors get re-elected and none of the proposals suggesting changes to the dual-stock status or voting rights pass. Afterwards, CEO Alan Mulally gave no specifics on his retirement, joking that 2030 when he is 85 sounded about right.

  • 8-9 years ago when they were going thru their tough times...I did not think they would make it.....Post Government motors...I have bought two Fords.....great car and truck....but I am worried that the politicians and the Unions will try to tank Ford as they are the competitor now....thru recall notices..regulations..... the brand name type of dirty pool..I will never by a GM or Chrysler again

  • It's OK if you buy a GM, or Chrysler Youngman. Although I'm a Ford man myself. I'm just happy to see folks buying from American owned companies...........

  • Bob Lutz retired from GM 2 years ago at age 78. There is no reason to think that Mulally would be compelled to retire any sooner than Bob. Alan seems to be in excellent health and full of energy and passion for his Company. Long Live Alan Mulally!

  • Alan did for Ford what Dr. Deming did for Ford in the early 80's.

    Tremendous leader!

  • Sixty three attendees! Sounds more like a klatsch rather than a shareholders meeting.

Sweetie, hand me one of those bagels and let's schmooze a little.

  • The real long term Shareholders that tend to show up for such things must be pretty doggone happy if they don't feel compelled to arrive at the meeting stamping around with big "NO!" signs; screaming, protesting, shouting, and interrupting the proceedings, denouncing the injustice of it all, and demanding the heads of the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership on silver plated platters, with apples crammed in their jaws. And even the handful of angry Union guys with one share held between them didn't even bother to make an appearance to fuss about how "thay took err jibbs". Things must be going well, ehh?
