    Fukushima happened do to gross misconduct & failure to address problems in a timely manor. Tokyo Electric knew about design problems well in advance. The worked on the other at risk plant complex and they shut down properly!!

    Yes expect Russian problems again. Germany shut down there old plant a few months ago good says I. Good maintenance is key since that is the point till a non uranium fusion reactor comes on line using other energy systems will have to do. Wave action turbines have shone promise as well. Time to have an honest talk about what works & how much.

    To true maybe threaten jail time at Russian style Gulag will bring the real truth to light. To me it should always be about giving the people the honest truth from the beginning. If they don't like it they can go some where else.

    What a BS. This is complete and utter BS. Germany can buy all the power they need from their neighbours. Germany still has sufficient nuclear energy - comes from France.

    Of course, if it gets really cold in Germany one can count on it being relatively warm in France, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, UK, etc.

    France exports a lot of electricity and has plenty over capacity. And who says Germany doesn't have enough? I looked in the German news after reading this - and guess what, nothing there (and I can look for news in German actually).

    The problem with the German energy is not that there won't be enough - it is that the costs will go up 10% in the next year for the industry. Here an article about that (hope you understand German): http://bit.ly/J5H9wi

    It is all about the costs. Rotterdam has one online, not sure about the capacity. EON plans one in Wilhelmshaven but I am not sure it will go forward - it is stalled but not cancelled I think. Wilhelmshaven is a deep water harbour and super tankers go there. Giant new container harbour under construction there.
    There are many gas pipelines - NatGas comes from Russia. Norway has two LNG terminals. Maybe the Atlantic coast doesn't need LNG terminal I think because France is having much nuclear energy.
