Yahoo (YHOO) is claiming "cause" for firing Scott Thompson, reports All Things D, meaning that the firm won't have to give him a huge payoff. While Thompson claimed the phantom degree in his resume was due to an error by headhunter Heidrick & Struggles, the latter apparently possesses an inaccurate CV that Thompson submitted to them.
