There is a high chance that Nokia stock may help you to recoup part or all of your losses from other stocks, depends on what prices level that you enter Nokia shares. Nokia has been losing money due to plants shut down and lay-off workers to streamline its business because it has been slow to innovate its products line to compete with its competitors like Samsung and Apple. As a result, Nokia is falling behind its competitors, but it is catching up and progressing its turn around plan steadily.
I have written several other comments relevant to Nokia published on this website which may help you to have a better understanding of what are the new products that the company will soon release.
I, with other investors who have faith in Nokia, strongly believe that the company will overcome its hardships and struggles, and soon become profitable again. Good luck to your investment in Nokia.
Sooner the better for Nokia to start its recovery!! Good time to buy now for long term.
6 weeks ago I was having dinner at a conference with 3 others each from a different organization. The discussion somehow went to phones. One of the guys commented on his plan to go to the windows platform in Q1-13 for phones , PC's & tablets as an upgrade for everything on a common platform. Not sure how many but he employees over 500 to be sure. what struck me was that one of the other guys said he was thinking along the same lines. I had this exact plan in mind already.
I went long on NOK and added to my MSFT.
5/25...Out today and really interesting related to the threats to Apple. Nothing to do with IOS or Android or any of that techy stuff. It's related to the "Mines bigger than yours" syndrome.
Samsung, which is now the world s largest Smartphone maker, shipped its latest flagship Galaxy S III Smartphone with a 4.8" display - with apparently sterling results.
Up until now, only Apple had resisted the trend - even Nokia (NOK), long considered a laggard in the smartphone hemisphere, shipped its Lumia 900 with a 4.3-inch display. The current iPhone has a 3.5-inch display.
Nokia could be a $60 stock by the end of the decade.
