Hate the ads showing Siri as a lonely person's trusted, helpful and falthful friend. Don't think it works as intended, as one with Malkovitch is creepy.

What is next, sexual fantasy fave? Get Tiger Woods for that one.

I like Siri a lot, but the ads are misleading. I don't know why Apple wants to disappoint its customers intentionally.

But the real reason for my post is to gripe about the bias. Siri is possibly loathed by as many as "love" it, but most people I know would best be described as "liking" it, "using it some", and "very interested to see where it goes". Most of us would surely consider it "fun" more than "essential." So where is the story about real people really using Siri. (I value its ability to help me keep my hands on the wheel when driving.)

This obsession the media seems to have with treating any good news or prospect of Apple as just a possibly true rumor to be checked out and to be carefully balanced with some downside coverage is not fair to all the hard working people at Apple, nor its investors. This technology is making us richer, happier, healthier, and better served in many ways, even when the benefit is taken by buying a Samsung or Microsoft copy.

These ground rules for throwing cold water and heaping skepticism on all things Apple don't seem to apply to Amazon, Microsoft, Google, or even Facebook. What gives?

I make money trading on Amazon investors' blindness to their irrrational exhuberance as well as the fact that half our educated professional class loves to hate Apple, but my sense of order would prefer to see rational views all around. I can find other things to trade.

@Victor, I see, at least on the west coast that the "educated professional class" are not the haters, mostly the Windows users who have had not much to cheer about lately. They seem to be all stripes and very interested in the new Xbox, W8, Lumia etc. Again, a mixed demographic indeed.

I want a better VPA. The question though is how Apple will handle Siri/ASR when there is no cloud connection, or if they will at all.
