    Natural gas consumption may rise 17% by 2017 from last year as demand surges in Asia and the U.S., with China's use of the fuel doubling while Europe's will remain below the level of 2010, the International Energy Agency reports. Low gas prices will result in gas generating almost as much electricity as coal in the U.S. within five years.
