Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 6:57 PM ETIT security threats are now more likely to occur at the application level than the switch/router level, argues Needham's Alex Henderson, and he thinks this puts Juniper's (JNPR) hardware at a disadvantage relative to solutions from Check Point (CHKP), F5 (FFIV), and others. Also, like Goldman, Henderson is worried about the impact of Alcatel-Lucent's (ALU) arrival in the core router market. He sees as F5 as the best way to play the broader trend towards application-level networking.
