    Carolina Federal Savings Bank of Charleston, S.C., makes the 26th U.S. bank failure of the year. Bank of North Carolina of Thomasville, N.C., will assume $53.1M in deposits and buy $41M of its $54.4M in assets. The failure is the second in South Carolina for the year. Earlier, the FDIC said First Capital Bank of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, had failed. Net cost for the two banks to the FDIC's deposit-insurance fund: $20.8M.
