The tie-up comes even though ARM-based CPUs are set to challenge AMD in the PC and server markets. Yesterday, AMD announced an initiative with ARM, Texas Instruments (TXN), and others to create a common programming model for CPUs and graphics processors - the initiative could help AMD better compete against Intel (INTC) if developers embrace it.
