Facebook (FB) CTO Bret Taylor is leaving the company to "work on an undetermined start-up," Kara Swisher reports. Taylor had been responsible for both Facebook's app platform and mobile efforts, and those jobs will now be handled by execs who were reporting to him. Fears had already grown that Facebook's weak IPO would contribute to significant talent defections - a major reversal for a company known for poaching top talent from peers.

  • That's got to be a record for the fastest time a Exec leaves following an ipo. He's not even waiting out the 90 day quiet period

  • Wow. Got to be way more to this story than what we are hearing right now. Once again, if I'm a new investor, I'm now dealing with another rude punch in the head from this IPO. It's like the dot-com era all over again (except, of course, there is a real product and real revenue). I don't even know why I keep posting about FB. I don't have any shares (never planned to get any). I'm not shorting the stock or anything. I just get p.o'd every time I read about the farce it's become. Although it was up today............on the other hand, pretty much everything was.

  • Unusual interest in the Jan 2013 puts, 32K interest and 10K volume....from Wsj --"Among the items left out of the original document were details about where the company generates sales. One issue with Facebook's business model is that it is experiencing the fastest user growth in countries where it struggles to make money: outside North America and Europe

  • To add that - While some key data were released thanks to the SEC's badgering, one interesting statistic released Friday for the first time suggests user engagement may be tapering off.

  • 30 is a teaser until the fall. Shares will try to trade at the IPO range in the meantime.
