While talking about political reform in China has always been a no no, the country used to be open to discussion of free-market reform and rolling back the state. But not anymore. • Economic freedom equals freedom. Many immigrants came to the US for just such a reason. China only uses capitalistic methods to ensure they don't lose control of over 1 billion people who were poverty stricken under communism. This is a tool only to continue state control and it manifests itself when people push for freedom of speech, assembly and what not. The tanks roll in.

  • More to the point, neither country uses just capitalism, they just use enough capitalism to keep things ticking.

  • Interesting that they would use something that works in order to push for something that doesn't.

    But power corrupts.

Our left here do something similar but more ignorant. They point to what works, capitalism, then decry it, pointing to what doesn't work, government, to save them.

We need to give China our leftist bretheren here as a gift. Then China wouldn't need to use the ruse.
