Struggling server appliance vendor Network Engines (NEI) is being acquired by privately-owned Unicom Systems for $63.2M, or $1.45/share, in cash. The deal's price represents an 85% premium to NEI's Monday close. NEI shares were crushed earlier this year after the company announced top customer EMC will be transitioning away from its products. Shares are halted. (PR)
