    Mozambique is blessed by geology - coal reserves estimated at 23B tons and gas deposits of up to 100 tcf, enough to supply Germany, Britain, France and Italy for a decade - and geography - on Africa's southeast coast in prime position to ship energy to growing markets in Asia. But will it succumb to the "resource curse" that has blighted many African states?

    "Resource curse" has absolutely nothing to do with it. The problem is African corruption and incompetence.
