Thursday, June 21, 2012, 2:11 PM ETFacebook (FB) will join Netflix in building its own content delivery network (CDN), an exec tells GigaOm. Facebook still makes up less than 2% of web traffic, but the company thinks the billions of photo uploads it's receiving justify the investment. The plans, which arrive as Facebook ramps its capex, could benefit infrastructure suppliers FFIV and FIO. CDN owners Akamai (AKAM -3.3%), Limelight (LLNW -2.2%), and Level 3 (LVLT -3.1%) are following the market lower today.
